New to Digital Nomadism // Interview with Outsite Member Tomas Laurinavicius

Outsite Member Tomas Laurinavicius is devoted to changing the lives of one million people through lifestyle design, whether that's empowering them to travel more, or to have the confidence to change career. 

Tomas has been travelling the world using coliving spaces like Outsite, testing coworking retreats and inspiring his online community to take control of their lives to improve them. Here's why he chooses to use Outsite, travel perpetually, and his lessons from the road.

Outsite: Tell us a bit about yourself.

Tomas: My name is Tomas Laurinavicius. I'm a lifestyle entrepreneur and blogger from Lithuania. For the last four years, I've been traveling the world with a mission to empower one million people to change their lifestyle for good.

How long have you been nomadic and what inspired this lifestyle change?

This is my fourth year traveling the world and embracing location independence. I've been inspired by Pieter Levels, Jacob Laukaitis and Jon Yongfook.

What has been the most challenging part so far?

The most challenging part is moving slow enough and maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

Any crazy/fun stories you'd like to share? 

It is funny how things turn out sometimes and the people you met a year ago on the other side of the world end up in the same place as you. Our world is shrinking. Traveling taught me a lot of things and one of them is to treat everyone with respect because you may meet them again.

How does Outsite fit into your current lifestyle?

Outsite allows me to plan short-term getaways where I can work from beautiful places, recharge and have fun in nature.

Any advice for 9-to-5 workers looking to make the leap to nomadism?

It's not as easy as most nomads portray. You'll still have your ups and downs and eventually, the novelty will fade away. Know yourself and listen to what your true-self wants to do. Give it a try for a week or a month and see what happens. If traveling is your passion, you'll find a way to make it a part of your lifestyle.
