Airport Transfer

Driving by Car

It takes 2 hours to drive from Cancun International Airport to Outsite Tulum.

Uber/Lyft/Taxi

Private Taxi (1 hour and 40 minutes from $167 USD)

There is no Uber or Lyft in this part of Mexico at the time of writing. However, private shuttles/taxis are available, and cost $100 USD one way or $175 round trip.

Select Casa Gran Malix as your location drop off location and you'll see the building on the right.

There's also a shared shuttle service which starts at $35 USD per person one way and will take you all the way to either of our locations from the Airport. Keep in mind that there is a 2 person minimum, and they don't offer round trips.

Public Transit

Bus + Taxi (3 hours, $23-$39 USD)

The ADO bus departs the airport to Tulum downtown for $19 USD each way. When you arrive in Tulum, just take a taxi and tell him to leave you in Outsite Centro Tulum. It should cost you maximum 200 pesos ($10 USD).

Parking

There's free public street parking available. We can also store scooters and bikes inside the house.

There's free public street parking available.

Getting Around

Exploring Tulum on Foot or by Bike

The most efficient way to get from Outsite to the center is by bike, scooter, or taxi. From there, you can easily walk around Avenida Tulum, where most of the action is. To get to the beach, the best way is by taxi, and if you would like to explore more of Tulum, Coba and the surrounding cenotes, we recommend renting a car.

The best way to get around is to rent a scooter (30 USD per day), but if you don't feel comfortable, get an e-bike (25 USD) or a bike (10-20 USD depending on the type). Feel free to ask the Community Manager for a recommendation. We work with the best businesses to ensure the prices are reasonable.

Public Transport

The ADO bus schedule links Tulum with Coba, Bacalar and Cancun. Collectivos are the 'local' way to get around Tulum - these are the white mini buses, stopping throughout town and along the beach road (each cost $50 MXN).

There is an organic market called Gipsy Market Tulum located 4 minutes by car from Outsite. For groceries or toiletries, Chedraui is a 15 minute drive away, and is the
largest supermarket around.

Tomato.mx is the main food delivery company.

Pharmacy

There's one drug store near Outsite Centro in Aldea Zavia.

Nearest Bank

We recommend you get cash at the airport or in Tulum town. Scotiabank and HSBC have reliable ATMs. Note that cash is widely used in town as well as the beach area. Try to avoid the ATMs by the beach as many are unsecure.
