Can I drop my luggage off before check-in?

Guests are welcome to use the common areas from 8:00 AM, subject to availability, while waiting for check-in. [Early check-in requests](https://outsite.co/faq/check-in-check-out) may be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, but cannot be guaranteed. Late check-out is not available.

We do not have a luggage storage, but you can drop of your luggage in the common area from 8:00 AM per request on your check-in date. On check-out date luggage may be stored in the common area until 4:00 PM. Please check the Arrival Guide for more details.

Outsite COVID-19 Response & Guest Guidelines

**In order for our Members and Guests to feel truly comfortable, we're introducing the following measures to ensure the safety of everyone staying at Outsite.** 
‍

\- We encourage all Outsite guests to be fully vaccinated on arrival. If vaccination is not possible for a guest, we encourage PCR tests and/or lateral flow tests before arrival.  
\-We operate contactless check-in.   
\- All Spaces are cleaned professionally.   
\- Hygiene consumables will be provided to Guests, including antibacterial hand soap and tissues.   
\- Extra cleaning supplies are provided in-house.   
\- We've removed high frequency touch points, including our arrival guides. This information can be found in your check-in email.   
\- Visitors are not currently permitted inside the Spaces.   
\- We are only hosting activities in selected spaces, and constantly reviewing the best practices for hosting events. We will continue to host online events.  
\- Fast COVID Management Strategies, if there are any cases detected in one of our Guests.   
\- We encourage longer term bookings to allow for less turnover inside the Spaces.   
\- Mandatory online pre-screening for all new Guests.

**We're also requesting all Guests use the following guidelines in our Spaces.**

\- Wash hands regularly and thoroughly, especially on leaving and entering the space.  
\- Ventilate the Space by regularly opening windows to allow fresh air to flow through.   
\- Only wash utensils using the dishwasher.  
\- Use your own linens inside the bathrooms, including hand towels.  
\- Wipe down surfaces before and after use with disinfectant.  
\- When washing kitchen towels or bath towels, wash on a hot cycle (140°F+)  
\- Visitors are not currently permitted inside the Spaces. You may socialize outside if abiding by social distancing measures.  
\- When collecting deliveries, dispose of external packaging as soon as possible.  
\- Cover your nose and mouth when sneezing/coughing. When using tissues, dispose of them immediately.  
\- Avoid touching your nose, eyes and mouth as much as possible.

## What happens if a Guest contracts the virus?

If you're exhibiting any of the symptoms of COVID-19 during your stay, including coughing, fever, or related respiratory issues, or have tested positive for COVID-19 or have been in contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 14 days, please contact [reservations@outsite.co](mailto:reservations@outsite.co) or your local community manager immediately.  
  
In the unfortunate case scenario that a guest tested positive during their stay, it would be up to the local healthcare provider to decide whether the guest needs to stay in a healthcare facility or not depending on the recommended treatment. If they approve of the guest leaving the healthcare facility and the guest does not want or cannot stay in any alternative accommodation, then the guest can stay for the duration of their stay while following the recommended COVID-19 isolation & safety guidelines.  
  
At this time all other guests would be immediately notified of the situation and highly encouraged to get tested as soon as possible. Outsite reserves the right to terminate and/or refuse services to any guest who does not follow the COVID-19 safety guidelines.

## **Do you require vaccine certificates or negative PCR results for all guests staying at Outsite?**

What's your cancellation policy for Curated properties?

Cancellation policies differ depending on the location, and when you are cancelling your booking.  Please review the cancellation policy when making your booking online. Cancellation policies can be found on the individual property pages.

Can I use my credits for Zoku bookings?

Accepted Answer

No, you cannot use your credits to book at Zoku properties.
Any booking you make on outsite.co, at a Zoku property, will earn you rewards credit.

What's the difference between a Members Only and Open to non-Members space?

Members Only spaces are only accessible to guests holding an Outsite Membership. Our Open to All spaces are available to book without an Outsite Membership.

Outsite Members will always receive the best available rate, as well as extended stay discounts and deals.

What's the difference between Outsite Signature and Outsite Curated?

Outsite has two types of stays, each offering the quality and work-friendly environment you'd expect — with a few key differences.

Signature Properties are owned or directly managed by Outsite. These are the heart of the Outsite experience: thoughtfully designed spaces with dedicated workspaces, house managers, community events, and common areas built for connection. When you stay at a Signature property, you're getting the full Outsite experience.

Curated Properties are independently operated spaces that Outsite has hand-selected and approved. They're not run by us, but they meet our standards for design, comfort, fast Wi-Fi, and remote-work suitability. You book them through your Outsite account and enjoy the same member rates and perks as you would at any Signature home.

Think of Curated stays as trusted recommendations from Outsite — vetted for quality, so you can book with confidence wherever you go.

How does identity verification work?

In order to feel at home at Outsite, our community needs to feel safe and secure. We ask for identification when a person either becomes a Member, or books an Outsite trip, to ensure we know exactly who is using our spaces.

We may ask for a screenshot of your government issued ID, alongside a selfie photo. Our identification process is managed via [Stripe](https://stripe.com/docs/identity). The data collected by Stripe is only used for verifying the identity of a user. After you have been verified, Outsite does not store your data.

Does Outsite provide coliving for families?

**Does Outsite accept children in their properties?**

We offer self-contained apartments in [Nicaragua](https://www.outsite.co/locations/san-juan-del-sur) and Costa Rica - [Bungalows](https://www.outsite.co/locations/santa-teresa-bungalows). These 1-2 bedroom apartments are appropriate for travellers with young children.

**How to add a child to your booking**

When you are booking with Outsite, select 2 adults, and 'apartment'. We do not accept children in private rooms. If in doubt, email reservations@outsite.co with the number of people in your booking, your desired location and dates.

**Is Outsite child-friendly?**

We do not offer the same facilities you may associate with traditional hotels (childcare, or toys), but we do accept babies and young children in private apartment bookings.

What's an Outsite Partner Space?

Outsite Spaces are managed and operated by Outsite and are exclusively for Outsite Members, but we'll occasionally work with an Outsite Partner Space in order to offer more locations to our Members.

Outsite works closely with Partner Spaces to ensure Members can fully enjoy the same experience. You'll find the same high-quality amenities when you visit a Partner Space, however, these Partner Spaces are shared by Members and non-Members.

**Do Outsite Members still receive discounts on Partner Spaces?**

Outsite Members still receive Members Rates and Deals for Partner Spaces.

**Can Outsite Members earn Rewards with stays at Partner Spaces?**

Yes, Outsite Members booking a stay in a Partner Space still earn Reward Points.

**How do you know if you are booking an Outsite Space or a Partner Space?**

Partner Spaces are labeled as Partner Spaces on the website.

**How does Outsite control the client experience in these Spaces?**

Outsite regularly reviews customer feedback from partner spaces to ensure a consistent experience. When possible, the Outsite Team also visit spaces to ensure they're upholding Outsite's brand standards.

How do I cancel my Membership?

Outsite Memberships renew yearly unless renewal is cancelled. Because of that, there is no "cancellation", only setting Membership to not renew.

**Outsite Branded Search Policy:**  
Please be reminded that the Outsite Affiliate Program does not allow any form of bidding on Outsite trademark terms through keyword bidding and other paid search on Google, Bing, Yahoo, MSN, and other search engines, and their extended search networks.

This includes (but not limited to): "Outsite" and/or any misspellings or similar alterations of these - be it separately or in combination with other keywords.

We recommend adding our trademarks to your Negative Keywords list, to avoid any broad or phrase match bidding on branded search terms.

The following practices are prohibited in the program:  
● Bidding on "trademark term" and "trademark term + term"  
● Using trademarks on ad texts

**Payment Terms:**  
Commission payments are made on the 15th of each month (or the following Monday should it falls on a weekend). Payments are made for all commissions accumulated the previous month - for example, one would be paid for all commissions made in Month 1 on the 15th of Month 2.

Cancellations and refunds of commissionable sales will be redacted if cancelled during the interim period between sale and payout.

All of our locations feature the same universal Outsite Rental Rules. Please make sure to review your check-in instructions as each location also has specific rules and guidelines.

We do not allow early check-ins or late check-outs.

**2\. Respect the Space.**   
  
Do not use shoes in carpeted areas or furniture, do not move or add furniture or equipment without authorization, and do not hang any items from walls or ceilings. Please report any damages to the Community Manager.  
  
**3\. Be Mindful.**   
  
You're staying in a space with shared common areas, and there is no daily housekeeping. Keep shared areas clean and tidy, ready for the next person.

**4\. No Unregistered Guests or Visitors.**  
  
All Guests need to be registered before arriving. Here’s [how to add a Guest onto your booking](https://www.outsite.co/faq/guests).

**5\. No Smoking or Vaping.**  
  
Smoking and/or vaping are not permitted at Outsite Spaces. Instead, we suggest you make the most of the neighborhood, and take a stroll to smoke.**‍**

**6\. Up after 10PM? Keep it Quiet.**  
  
No noise after 10PM, including collateral noise from the kitchen, laundry or bathroom. Please use earphones if you’re up late. Violation of this rule may result in immediate eviction.

**7\. Stay Safe.**   
  
Please close and lock all doors and windows on your way out and at night. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Community Manager. For emergencies, call the local emergency services immediately.  
  
**8\. Keep Our Planet Clean.**

Turn off lights, A/C, heating and appliances when not in use, and make sure to use the recycling bins provided.

**9\. No Pets.**   
  
Animals are not permitted inside the Space without prior authorization. Contact [reservations@outsite.co](mailto:reservations@outsite.co) for more information.

**10\. Find a Safe Space to Park.**   
  
Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines and towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner.

**11\. Waste and Recycling.**  
  
All full garbage bags must be placed in the corresponding garbage and/or recycling bins.

**12\. No Fires on the Property.**  
  
The burning of candles, incense, sage or palo santo is not permitted on the property. Burning or setting material alight on the property is prohibited.

**13\. Accidents and Injuries**  
  
Our locations are close to cliffs, surf beaches, and diverse wildlife - occasionally, these places can present hazards.   
  
Cliff faces can be unstable, please beware of falling rocks or debris when in the vicinity. If you’re choosing to swim at surf beaches, beware of rip tides, and only enter the water if a lifeguard is present. When walking close to shallow water, you might find yourself in the company of a stingray or scorpion - watch your footing, and stay back when you see them.

**‍**Location independence refers to the degree to which one's professional life ties them to a particular physical place.

Being location independent means one does not need to be in a particular location, usually for work. Location flexible is similar, but for people who perhaps have some commitments or reasons to be in a particular place some of the time.

Most people who identify as location independent leverage mobile technology to allow them to work outside a traditional office. Location independent/flexible people are often entrepreneurs or freelancers, but 60% of Outsite users are actually in full-time remote roles. It's becoming more and more common to find full-time remote work.

How does Membership Renewal work?

Outsite Membership is an ongoing Membership that renews yearly on the date you first joined, if you purchased the Annual Membership. Those with lifetime Membership do not have any renewals, as their Membership status is permanent. Members enjoy access to Spaces, Outsite Events, access to the Outsite Community and Members Benefits.

If you don't want your Membership to renew, that's OK too. Two weeks before your renewal date, we'll send you a few emails letting you know about the pending renewal date, and there you're free to let us know if you don't want to renew for the following year. But check your account first - you may have credit on your [Outsite Rewards](https://www.outsite.co/faq/outsite-rewards) you won't want to lose.

Where are my check-in instructions?

You will receive your check-in instructions via email 4-7 days prior to your check-in. Make sure you whitelist reservations@outsite.co to make sure you receive the email.  
  
Your check-in email will include the space address, contact information for the House Manager, parking information, room and door codes, information on your room, how to join the local Whatsapp group to keep up with events, and house rules.

Do you allow pets?

Given the communal nature of coliving, Outsite does not accept pets at any location for individual bookings.

Outsite by law does allow service dogs. Outsite staff is allowed to ask two questions in order to determine what service the animal provides if it's not obvious:

(1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and

(2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Staff cannot ask about the person’s disability, require medical documentation, require a special identification card or training documentation for the dog, or ask that the dog demonstrate its ability to perform the work or task.

Outsite defines service animals as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. Examples of such work or tasks include guiding people who are blind, alerting people who are deaf, pulling a wheelchair, alerting and protecting a person who is having a seizure, or performing other duties. Service animals are working animals, not pets. The work or task a dog has been trained to provide must be directly related to the person’s disability. Dogs and pets whose sole function is only to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA, and will not be allowed.

**What type of room will I get?**

This depends on availability, and your bid. We'll offer the highest value rooms to the highest bids.

**Can I use credit when bidding, or another promo?**

You cannot use Outsite Credits or another promotion when booking your bid.

**When will I find out if my bid was successful?**

We'll let you know if your bid is, or isn't, successful within 3 days.

Does the normal extended stay booking apply at Zoku?

Outsite Members get up to 15% off their stay at Zoku, depending on season and length of stay. 
Outsite Members also earn Outsite Reward credits, get weekly breakfast with stays of more than 14 nights, and weekly breakfast and lunch with stays of more than 28 nights.

### Outsite Payment Policy
On bookings of 30+ nights, you can pay 50% now and pay 50% 20 days before your check-in date.
Otherwise it is paid in full in advance. Pay Now & Pay Later is not available on non-refundable bookings.

### Zoku Payment Policy
**Stays between 1-6 nights:**
No prepayment – only a valid credit card

**Stays between 7-27 nights:**
A deposit of 25% of the total reservation will be settled 72 hours prior to the arrival. A secured payment link will be sent 6 days prior to arrival, and this will be valid for 3 days.
If a reservation is made 72 hours in advance, the deposit is charged upon booking the reservation. The remainder of the balance is payable upon arrival.

**Stays longer than 28 nights:**
A deposit of 25% of the first month will be settled 1week prior to the arrival. A secured payment link will be sent 10 days prior to arrival, and this will be valid for 3 days.
If a reservation is made 7 days in advance, the deposit is charged upon booking the reservation. The remainder of the balance is payable upon arrival.

How does Outsite's Referral Program work?

Outsite's Referral Program is a fantastic way for any Outsite account holder to earn Outsite Credit toward future stays.

When a friend, colleague, or follower creates an Outsite account with your unique link, a $50 credit that can be used for a booking or Outsite Membership is placed in their account. When they book a stay or become a Member, $50 in Credit is placed in your account, too.  
  
Please note that Outsite Credit can be used on any Outsite Signature booking worth over $75, but can only be used for up to 50% of abooking's total value.

Can I book long-term stays?

Minimum and maximum night-stay policies vary per Space and are as advertised on the website. If you are interested in extending your stay you can contact [reservations@outsite.co](mailto:reservations@outsite.co) to extend your stay either before your stay has commenced, or during your stay.

Outsite Members receive a 30% discount on the nightly rate of bookings of 28+ nights, and a 35% discount on the nightly rate of bookings of 60+ nights. The discount applies for consecutive nights under the same reservation and location/property.

Outsite Members also have access to exclusive Early Bird offers for monthly stays.

Please keep in mind that long term discounts will be applied based on the length of the confirmed reservation and that changes to a confirmed reservation may affect these discounts. When requesting extensions please also keep in mind that long term discounts are not applied retroactively.

**Pay Now-Pay Later for Long Term Stays:** On bookings of 28+ nights, you can pay 50% now and pay 50% 20 days before your check-in date.

Can I refer my company to Outsite?

You can earn $150 in Gift Credit by referring your team or company to Outsite. We'll award you $150 in Gift Credit when your team purchases a Business Membership.

### Outsite Cancellation

**Cancellation refunds will be issued based on the cancellation policy.**

‍**Non Refundable Rates**
These rates are non-refundable in any case.

**Flex / Nightly (1 - 6 nights)**
Up to 72 hours before check-in (4PM in the timezone of the destination) you can cancel your booking and receive a refund. If you cancel less than 72 hours prior to your check-in time, you will not receive a refund.

If the stay is modified or shortened after check-in, there's no refund.

**Flex / Weekly (7 - 27 nights)**
Up to 7 days before check-in (4PM in the timezone of the destination) you can cancel your booking and receive a refund. Between 7 days and 72 hours before check-in, you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel less than 72 hours prior to your check-in time, you will not receive a refund.

If the stay is modified or shortened after check-in, there's no refund.

**Flex / Monthly (28+)**
Up to 14 days before check-in (4PM in the timezone of the destination) you can cancel your booking and receive a refund. If you cancel between 14 days and 7 days before check-in, you will be refunded the whole stay, minus 50% of the first 28 nights. If you cancel less than 7 days prior to your check-in time, the first 30 nights will be charged, and you will be refunded for any further nights booked. If you cancel part or all of your reservation after arrival, the nights stayed + the remaining nights, **counting from cancellation date**, up to 28 nights will be charged, and you will be refunded for any further nights booked.

### Changes to your booking

You may make changes to your booking in the free cancellation period. Changes in date or number of nights can lead to different rates and are subject to availability.

**Flex / Nightly (1 - 6 nights)**
You may cancel your booking up to 72 hours before check-in (4 PM in the destination’s timezone) for a full refund. If you cancel less than 72 hours before check-in, no refund will be issued.
If you modify your stay when a cancellation fee applies, you will be charged the same penalty as if you had canceled. If you extend beyond the original stay dates, additional nights must be paid in full.
Once check-in has occurred, no refund will be issued for modifying or shortening your stay.

**Flex / Weekly (7 - 29 nights)**
Cancellations made up to 7 days before check-in (4 PM in the destination’s timezone) will receive a full refund. If you cancel between 7 days and 72 hours before check-in, you will receive a 50% refund. If you cancel less than 72 hours before check-in, no refund will be issued.
Modifying your stay when a cancellation penalty applies will result in the same charge as a cancellation. If you extend beyond the original stay dates, additional nights must be paid in full.
No refunds will be provided for early check-out after check-in.

**Flex / Monthly (30+ nights)**
If you cancel up to 14 days before check-in (4 PM in the destination’s timezone), you will receive a full refund. If you cancel between 14 days and 7 days before check-in, you will be refunded for the full stay minus 50% of the first 30 nights. If you cancel less than 7 days before check-in, the first 30 nights will be charged, and any remaining nights beyond that will be refunded.
Any modification made when a cancellation fee applies will be subject to the same penalty. If you extend beyond the original stay dates, additional nights must be paid in full.
If you shorten your stay after check-in, you will be charged for the nights stayed plus the remaining nights (up to 30 nights) from the cancellation date. Any further nights will be refunded.

### Further rules that may apply;

**Grace period:** Reservations requests received more than 48 hours from the check-in date have a grace period of 24 hours, meaning you can make changes free of charge for the next 24 hours as long as the check-in date of your reservation is more than 48 hours away from the check-in date, after the first 24 hours all reservations will be subject to our cancellation policy. The grace period starts at the moment the reservation is confirmed.
- Reservations made directly with Outsite (online, email etc) can be altered and cancelled via your own online login. 
- Reservations made with the Saver Rate are non-modifiable.
- For changes regarding reservations not made directly with Zoku – please use the alteration options of the channel/company used making your original booking.
- Please note: Changes in date or number of nights can lead to different rates and are subject to availability.
- To be sure what rules apply to your booking, login to your personal Zoku account.

### Zoku Cancellation

**Stays between 1-6 nights:**
 Up to 24 hours before check-in (3PM) you can cancel your booking free of charge. With cancellations less than 24 hours prior to arrival or no show, the first night will be charged.
 
**Stays between 7-27 nights:**
More than 72 hours prior to check-in (3PM) at no charge. Less than 72 hours prior to check-in/no-show: 25% deposit will be handled as late cancellation fee.

**Stays longer than 28 nights:**
More than 7 days prior to arrival at no charge. Between 7 days and 24 hours prior to arrival: the 25% deposit will be handled as a late cancellation fee. Short stay: 24 hours or less prior to arrival/no-show: the first 7 nights are charged.

Extra guests, visitors and multi-person bookings

We’re happy to welcome guests and visitors, provided they are registered in advance to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety.

All guests and visitors must be registered prior to arrival. Unregistered guests or visitors are not permitted.

Members may register additional guests or visitors up to the maximum occupancy of their room. Additional guests or visitors do not need to be Outsite members.

Registration is subject to a fee of $15 or €13 per day (depending on the region), with a minimum of two days. Discounts may apply to guest fees, based on the guest length of stay.

The same policy applies to both daytime visitors and overnight guests.

Towels are included with your stay, along with other amenities like sheets, laundry facilities, a well-equipped kitchen, and bathroom accessories. Outsite is designed to make you feel like you're home, even when you're away.
