Old San Juan

For the perfect mix of charming European architecture and Latin flair, head to Viejo San Juan, AKA Old San Juan. With lots of cafes with reliable wifi, Old San Juan is a great spot for Puerto Rico digital nomads. Not to mention, there are endless bars and restaurants for nightlife lovers and foodies. Ocean Park

Ocean Park is a residential beachfront neighborhood in the municipality of San Juan, Puerto Rico. This is a safe, local neighborhood with small markets, cafes and restaurants. The beach here is calm, perfect for kayaking, SUP and swimming. This is also where you can find Outsite Puerto Rico.

An upscale, relaxed, and residential area, Miramar hosts an array of nice restaurants, a movie theater, boutique shops, and many great coffee shops.

Café con Cé
This is a small and trendy espresso bar tucked behind a food truck park in Santurce. They feature a local artist vending machine, great coffee, and outdoor seating on their patio out back. 

‍Cuatro Sombras 
An experience in and of itself, this coffee shop is on the ground floor of an old colonial home in Old San Juan with patio seating. It's a popular spot, so try to get there early. Their coffee is great and comes from a hacienda in Yauco that has been in the owner's family since 1846. They also serve breakfast, lunch, and pastries. 

Barista Squared Condado 
This Spanish colonial style cafe sits across from the beach. The atmosphere is relaxed, the WiFi is strong, and they serve traditional coffee, breakfasts, and pastries.

Ocean Park
Also known as "Punta Las Marias Beach”, this beach is one of the most popular in Puerto Rico's metropolitan area. You'll find sun bathers and water sports lovers alike.

Escambrón Beach
One of the nicest beaches in the city, and usually not quite as busy as others, this beach attracts surfers. Enjoy views of the 17th century fort in the distance. Snorkel or scuba dive at their marine park and you might just see some sea turtles, octopuses, and tropical fish.

Hobie Beach 
This quieter, slightly less populated beach lies east of San Juan in the neighboring town of Carolina. Perfect for swimmers and sunbathers alike, you'll find chairs and umbrellas available for rent here.

Puerto Rico's two main airports are San Juan International Airport (SJU) and Rafael Hernandez Airport (BQN), in Aguadilla. If you’re flying internationally, you'll most likely be flying into one of these two airports.  

Is there Uber in San Juan, Puerto Rico?

Yes, taxis and Ubers are readily available in San Juan, so a car isn't necessary. Públicos, or public buses are also available and very affordable.
