This quiet town sits on a headland on the most southwestern tip of Portugal, framed by the Atlantic Coast and dramatic cliff faces. While well-weathered, this area is generally sunny all year round with multiple surf spots. Tonel, Beliche and Arrifana have waves suitable for beginners to intermediate and advanced surfers - and the best conditions can be found in winter. From May to September, the local town comes alive with seasonal restaurants, bars and cafés, making this a popular spot for European summer too.
